One of the must-go city break destinations, Barcelona is a truly cosmopoitan city. The city is home to some of Gaudi's most famous architecture, contemporary for its time and still looking modern today.
Nou Camp is the home of Barcelona FC and a tour of the trophy room and all its silver is well worth it as is the 1992 Olympic stadium. La Sagrada Familia Church should also be on your list of things to do. Still not complete after Gaudi began building in 1882 the spires tower over the city. If you are after sun, sea and sand, Barcelona's man-made beach is a short walk from the centre and a great way to relax on a sunny afternoon. Finally, Las Ramblas is great fun for all the family and home to many mime and music acts and close to great shops and tapas bars. |
