North Island is home to Auckland and its diverse landscapes. The city itself is often referred to as
the City of Sails due to its large harbour.
Not surprisingly, a popular choice for tourists is a harbour yacht ride which is a great way to see the city, especially at night. Dominating the skyline is the Sky Tower, which gives 360º views of the city. With a cafe and restaurant, this is the perfect setting to watch the sunset. Just outside of Auckland there are miles of unspoilt countryside, made popular by the Lord of the Rings movies. |
